Then, it swells into fearsome declarations of power, then destruction! Then, one whisper after the bang, to recall its humble beginnings. It teaches us the lesson: Be careful with ambition. It can be a good thing, but once you let the power go to your head, and don't know when to stop, it can be a powerful destructive force.
A wonderful lesson, told with a unique and old-fashioned style. The "monotone" ends up working well as a neutral voice, not judging its own words, and letting the audience take charge of how we feel at each declaration. A great piece I disliked, until I actually listened to more than the first verse. And that seems to be intentional; it HAD to start off dull, so it could evolve greatly into other directions as it went along.
And we have to go from not caring about someone's little accomplishments, to realizing that we SHOULD care. Each little accomplishment can be magic in the right hands, deserving praise and yet, should be called into question when it begins to get out of control!

I really liked it a lot, but eventually I forgot about it because I didn't know the artist. Unfortunately for me, I made the mistake of googling the lyrics and found the video. That video is the reason this song doesn't have 5 stars.
Without the video, I first thought this song was about motivation and overcoming adversity and aspiration to greatness. With the video, this song is about hippies vs. the man. The artist chose to give it heavy handed political overtones, and that ruined the song for me. I have tried multiple times to download this flobots handlebars album version download and it has never shown up.

This song is greater than what can be described with words. I love these guys and I consider them to he the new RATM but this song is the best in my opinion. This is probably my favorite song! Great song! I like this Flobots song a lot. Just this one though. I bought this track after hearing the version on their other CD 'Platypus' and was really disappointed with how they changed it.
Like I said in my other review, it just seems really artifical in comparison. It's still a great song, but it seems like it lost some of it's life to me.
